The stated first printing of the first edition of this rather breathless exposé of "occult crime" in America: that is murders and other horrors which became linked to Satanism, Witchcraft, etc. in the popular imagination during the 1980s. As can be seen from this book, this fixation, which became known to its critics as "the Satanic Panic", could be quite convincing.
