Item #64874 Ali Sloper or The Forty Liars. A Christmas Diversion. Aleister CROWLEY.

Ali Sloper or The Forty Liars. A Christmas Diversion.

Santa Cruz CA: Magick Theatre [ Ordo Templi Orientis O.T.O. ], 1987. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Octavo. 28pp. Green stapled illustrated wrappers with black lettering, b&w pipe smoking Crowley on rear cover. A mystical play by Crowley that was first published in "Konx om Pax." As far as we can determine this 1987 edition by the Magick Theatre Edition of Santa Cruz was its first separate publication. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. The label can easily be removed without affecting the page, although it would be a shame not to preserve this record of the book's provenance. Rather cheap fanzine-type production values. Covers lightly rubbed and a little faded at edges, else a tight, clean near Fine copy. Item #64874
