Item #64877 Doctor Bob AND The Tango, two plays. Aleister CROWLEY, Mary D'Este.

Doctor Bob AND The Tango, two plays.

Santa Cruz CA: Magick Theatre [ Ordo Templi Orientis O.T.O. ], 1987. First Edition Thus. Softcover booklet. Octavo. 30pp, iv adverts. Yellow stapled illustrated wrappers with black lettering, b&w pipe smoking Crowley on rear cover. The first Magick Theatre edition of the plays "Doctor Bob" (first published in "The Equinox" Vol.1, No. 8), and "The Tango" (first published in "The Equinox" Vol. I, No. 9). Both are jointly attributed to Crowley and his Scarlet Woman du jour, Mary d'Este Sturges. The booklet is from the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. The label can easily be removed without affecting the page, although it would be a shame not to preserve this record of the book's provenance. Rather cheap production values. Covers lightly rubbed else a tight, unmarked VG+ copy. Item #64877
