Original red cloth with gilt lettering to spine, b&w frontispiece and illustrations, index, bibliography. A study of Celtic myth and legend strongly informed by contemporary esoteric thought. The author, Eleanor Merry (1873 - 1956) was an English poet, artist, musician and anthroposophist with a strong Celtic impulse and interest in esoteric wisdom. Merry's studies with Rudolf Steiner led her to the tracing of Celtic mysteries in this volume. The publisher notes: "This is a most fascinating book on pre-historic religion, exquisitely written, and incorporating the author's deep learning in Esoteric wisdom." Spine slightly canted, cloth a bit rubbed and darkened at all edges, spine ends and corners bruised and rubbed, page edges darkened and foxed, bookshop sticker on pastedown, pages toned but bright and unmarked. Overall a tight, clean better than VG copy in Good+ dust jacket. (Dust jacket somewhat rubbed , spine darkened, all edges and extremities a bit chafed and lightly chipped, small white paint mark on front panel, not price clipped.
