A complete softcover facsimile of this well known and important hermetic manuscript in 36 full page color plates. Originally in the Paul and Mary Mellon Collection of Alchemy and the Occult (Mellon MS. 1) the original of this particular manuscript is now in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library Yale University. Ars Notoria sive Flores Aurei is a practical text in which direct knowledge is sought by means of incantation, prayer and meditation. The rather splendid thirteenth century manuscript reproduced here has beautiful calligraphy, and numerous diagrams. It is entirely in Latin. Please note that this edition has no commentary at all and is completely devoid of publication details. We know that it was purchased (and therefore published) no later than 2014, but have no other details. A tight bright and unused near Fine copy. Item #65074
