The Cephaloedium Working.

Pittsburgh, PA: Kokopeli Publishing, 1996. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Quarto. 12pp (pages numbered and printed on rectos only - the versos are blank). Quarto sheets, computer-typeset, bound in an office-style clip folder with clear upper cover, navy rear cover. The publisher notes on the copyright page: "This edition is published privately for Thelemites and other friends" and thus the distribution is likely to have been very limited. A typeset version of the Cephaloedium Working with Crowley's diagrams etc. scanned in. The editor notes "This edition is accurate and proofed against a photocopy of the holograph MS." The Cephaloedium Working, which took place between November 28th 1920 and January 20th 1921 involved Crowley, Cecil Fredrick Russell, and Leah Hirsig with the aims of providing inspiration for Crowley to finish his commentary on "The Book of the Law," to aid in the establishment of the Law of Thelema and to obtain visions relating to the tarot trump of The Tower. The Cephaloedium Working was unpublished in Crowley's lifetime, but went through several printings from the mid-1970s onwards. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. A tight small smudge on the second page, otherwise a tight, clean, near Fine copy. Item #65090
