A detailed, well documented study of Heinrich Tränker (1880–1956), the Leipzig occult bookseller who was deeply involved in a variety of German occult movements during the first half of the twentieth century including the O.T.O., of which he was, for a time, the head. Amongst the numerous individuals and groups mentioned are included: Aleister Crowley, Otto Gebhardi, Albin Grau, Eugen Grosche (Gregor A. Gregorius); Franz Hartmann, A. Krumm-Heller, Martha Küntzel, Theodor Reuss, and many many others. The book is very generously illustrated with fascinating colour and black and white photographs, including many of contemporary documents, books, etc. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications.
