Perdurabo Outtakes. The Blue Equinox Journal, Issue 1 (Summer 2005 e.v.).

Royal Oak, MI: Blue Equinox Oasis, OTO, Summer, 2005. First Edition. Softcover. Octavo. 264pp. Illustrated covers, appendixes. This copy INSCRIBED AND SIGNED by Kaczynski on the half-title page. The volume comprises two chapters that were cut from the original edition of the author's biography of Aleister Crowley, "Perdurabo", the text of Crowley's "The 'Rosicrucian' Scandal" and four extensive groups of source material (such as trial transcriptions and the text of newspaper articles) that were not included in "Perdurabo" although they are of course used and cited in it. These collections cover the "Looking Glass trial" of 1911; Crowley's libel case against Constable in 1934 over "Tiger Woman"; the subsequent action against Crowley over "the stolen letters;" and the bankruptcy proceedings against Crowley which followed. The inscription reads: "#2 of 4 inscribed copies. To Clive, 93, 'Who maintained a Crowley archive.' 93 93/93. ITBOTO, Richard Kaczynski". Hence this copy is from the collection of Clive Harper and has his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications including, of course "Perdurabo". Although not stated as such, only 250 copies of "Perdurabo Outtakes" were printed. Light bump to lower corner, otherwise a tight, bright near Fine copy with an interesting provenance. Item #65108
