Essays, Kabbalistic, Magical and Philosophical: an interesting collection by Crowley at his mature best. The first edition. There are two binding variants known - this is the one where the bottom of the sloping 'leg' of the letter R in 'Toward' and 'Truth' on the front board extends below the bottom edge of the other letters in the words on that line (the order of precedence of the issues is not known). Some copies have an Addendum sheet tipped in before Contents page, this copy does not. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Covers a little leaned (as is quite common with this volume), a little light shelf-wear. The edges and about half-a-dozen leaves towards the end have some minor foxing (mostly confined to the bottom margin). Overall a lovely, clean VG+ copy (without the seldom seen dust jacket).
