The Occult Review, Vol XVIII, No. 6, December 1913.

London: William Rider, 1914. First US Edition. Softcover. Large octavo. [vi ads] pp. 311 - 380 + iv [ads] Printed blue wrappers. This is the first US edition of this issue. Typically the contents of the US edition are the same as those of the UK issue of the preceding month. Thus the contents of this issue are the same as the UK issue for Nov 1913. A single issue of this journal with the usual collection of letters, reviews and essays. Crowley related material in this issue comprises a poem "The Radiant God" by Crowley associate Meredith Starr and a full page advertisement for "The Equinox, Vol. I No. X" on the back cover. Other contents: Notes of the Month (on W.T. Stead), A Master of the Inward Way by Arthur Edward Waite, To Death by Gerald Arundel, The Harlequinade by H Stanley Redgrove, My Occult Experiences by Holden E Sampson, The Bahai Movement by Beatrice Irwin, Olla Podrida by the editor, Psychical Research and the Study of Dreams by J Arthur Hill; plus letters, reviews, etc. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Copies of "The Occult Review" are notoriously fragile on account of their soft paper wrappers. The wrappers are heavily faded with small chips and tears, the spine has an old tape repair and the rear wrapper is starting to detach, moderate foxing. This is in typical G+ condition for this journal. Item #65428
