Waite expert Dr. R. A. Gilbert on the front free endpaper: "10 December 1987 / For Bob Gilbert / With Thanks / [signed] Martin Starr." Loosely inserted is the publisher's "News Release" announcing the release of the book, printed on a single sheet of (folded) grey letterhead. "This series of six short stories features the mystic, magician and man of the world Simon Iff, a master detective who solves mysteries of human misdeeds by his intimate knowledge of human psychology." There seems little doubt that Iff was, in part at least, an idealised self-portrait of Crowley. A little pale foxing to the edges, otherwise appears as new, thus Fine in near Fine dust jacket (dust jacket has a hint of fading to the spine, now protected by a removable mylar sleeve). Item #65460
