Item #65589 Iranian & Indian Analogues of the Legend of the Holy Grail. J. C. COYAJEE.

Iranian & Indian Analogues of the Legend of the Holy Grail.

Bombay: D.B. Taraporevala Sons & Co., ND [ 1939 ]. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. viii & 90pp. Green cloth with gilt titling to spine; b&w frontis with tissue guard, index. The first edition of this detailed examination of aspects of the Celtic Grail legend with analogous features in Iranian and Indian mythology. Hint of bruising to corners. Page edges and all interior pages unevenly darkened with scattered browning (consequence of cheap paper stock). There a short, nibbled trail from a (long-defunct) bookworm affecting the front endpapers and first few leaves including a tiny amount on title page (but affecting no text), a few tiny tears at fore-edges. Overall a tight, clean better than VG copy in VG+ dust jacket (soft paper jacket has a little creasing, and a few chips around the edges. Price-clipped, no protected by a removable mylar sleeve). An unusual study - scarce in any edition. Item #65589
