Frontispiece portrait and sixteen b&w photographs. The scarce first edition of this memoir by the English musician, author and occultist Cyril Meir Scott (1879–1970). Scott is now probably most widely remembered for his numerous musical compositions, and as the author of "The Initiate" series, a trilogy in which he told the story, supposedly based in fact, of a well-known Englishman of his acquaintance who was an initiate or adept of high attainment. Clearly a well-read copy. Cloth rubbed & unevenly darkened with a few light marks from handling, spine canted and darkened, page edges darkened and foxed, owner's name in pen on front pastedown, pages toned with occasional foxing and perhaps a dozen pages have some relatively unobtrusive underlining. Overall a tight and serviceable about VG copy of this scarce first edition. (no dust jacket). Item #65600
