Item #65750 Little Essays Toward Truth. Aleister CROWLEY.

Little Essays Toward Truth.

San Francisco: O.T.O / Stellar Visions, August, 1981. First Edition Thus, Second Printing. Softcover. Octavo stapled booklet. 88pp. Blue wrappers printed in gold, original cloth tape spine, b&w illustrations, hand-coloured endpages. This printing was apparently issued as a limited edition - this copy is hand-numbered "#6" and although no limitation is stated, it is certainly very uncommon. One of a number of variants of the 1981 Stellar Visions edition of this collection of essays, Kabbalistic, Magical and Philosophical written by Crowley at his mature best. The book was published as part of a massive effort Ebony Anpu and friends at Stellar Visions made in the 1980s to make long out-of-print Crowley texts available. It includes a short (2 page) introductory essay on the O.T.O. "To all it may concern" by Frater 137 (Ebony Anpu) at the rear. At the time of issue the booklets were enthusiastically advertised as having "beautiful hand colored endpapers." Whatever the rather questionable merits of this claim, the other production values are rather basic. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Covers very slightly rubbed, lower corner creased, a few light marks to spine, fore-edge cut a bit irregularly, pages toned but clean and unmarked - otherwise a clean VG+ copy. Item #65750
