Item #65751 Little Essays Toward Truth. Aleister CROWLEY.

Little Essays Toward Truth.

San Francisco: O.T.O / Stellar Visions, June 1981. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Octavo. 88pp. Blue stapled wrappers printed in gold, b&w illustrations, hand-coloured endpages. Apparently the first edition of the uncommon Stellar Visions edition of this collection of essays, Kabbalistic, Magical and Philosophical written by Crowley at his mature best. It was published as part of the massive effort by Ebony Anpu and friends to make basic Crowley texts available in the 1980s, and went through a number of reprintings, although the actual number of copies done in each must have been tiny as all are uncommon. It includes a short (2 page) introductory essay on the O.T.O. "To all it may concern" compiled by Frater 137 (Ebony Anpu) at the rear. At the time of issue the booklets were enthusiastically advertised as having "beautiful hand colored endpapers." Whatever the rather questionable merits of this claim, the other production values are rather basic. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Covers very slightly rubbed, vertical crease to upper cover, pages toned and with a few creased corners, but unmarked - otherwise a tight, clean VG+ copy. Item #65751
