The first edition of this work described by the author as: "..the fruits of a life-long study of the foundations of Eastern and Western religious thought. It is a parallel presentation of these foundations and a consideration of their relation to each other." It comprises a lengthy Introduction and thoughtful selection from the Upanishads. Cloth a bit rubbed and slightly darkened, a few bumps to edges, corners and spine ends. Small amount of old cello tape residue to lower spine, page edges a bit darkened and dusty, pages lightly toned but bright and unmarked.
