Crossed Keys. Being a Chimeric Binding of Both The Black Dragon and the Enchiridion of Pope Leo III.

UK: Scarlet Imprint, 2011. First Edition - Edition Deluxe. Hardcover. Small octavo. 240pp. Original full black textured goat leather with inset dragon design on front board, and spine with raised bands, gilt titling and "Crossed Keys" design. Housed in original yellow custom-made leather satchel with silk ties, the flap of which is blocked in black with the 'Crossed Keys" device. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers, two silk ribbon page markers. The 'Sable et d'Or' edition limited to just 55 hand-numbered copies. The first joint publication of these two complimentary grimoires, newly translated, and with extensive commentary and analysis by Cecchetelli, much of which is drawn from his own practice using the texts. The designs of of the original seals are included, as are corrected and restored versions which have been reworked in sympathy with the system utilised by Jake Stratton-Kent in "The True Grimoire." The text "The Black Dragon" includes much traditional magic and cunning lore, whereas "The Enchiridion" is an earlier work of what purports to be Christian magic. There is apparently a little-known relationship between the texts, which Cecchetelli explores. Book appears unused and is in Fine condition. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. A lovely Fine copy in near Fine leather pouch. Quite scarce due to the small limitation. Item #65978
