A Theosophical perspective on clairvoyance and spiritualism by Geoffrey Hodson (1886 – 1983 ) mystic, Liberal Catholic priest, philosopher and esotericist, and active for over 70 years in the Theosophical Society. He was the author over fifty books on psychic powers, Theosophy, Spiritualism, mysticism, fairies, angels, meditation, clairvoyance, health and disease as well as hundreds of articles and radio talks. He travelled the world extensively lecturing for the Theosophical Society. From the library of Gerald Yorke (1901-1983) with a short pencil note in his handwriting on the front free endpaper and his posthumous bookplate tipped in at the rear. A great occult scholar and bibliophile, Yorke ("Frater Volo Intellegere") was for a short time Aleister Crowley's chief disciple. In later life Yorke played a crucial role in preserving Crowley's literary legacy as well as in the publication of works on the occult and Eastern religions, editing and commissioning works for a number of British publishers from the 1950s through 1970s. Covers rubbed and a bit darkened, edges chafed with some tiny chips, half inch chip missing at lower spine, one inch split to upper cover at lower spine, page edges and first and last leaves foxed, pages toned but still a tight, VG copy of this very scarce First edition.
