INSCRIBED by the publisher Michael John Lovett of Sut Anubis and Occultique to Clive Harper on the inside front cover. "The Fun of the Fair" is Crowley's reminiscences - in verse - of the bawdy spectacle of the great festival at Nijni Novgorod (Russia) he visited in 1913. It was originally published in 1942 in an edition of 200 copies, an undated Sut Anubis reprint from the 1980s. From the collection of Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications.
