An interesting and often overlooked scholarly study that stresses the importance of the context in which the European witch persecutions took place - the general belief in and fear of witches. "Cleaned" Ex-library - i.e. appears to have on been a library book that had relatively few markings, which have been carefully removed. Shadow from shelf label on lower spine and front board, traces of bookplate on front pastedown and card pocket to rear paste down. A few ink numerals and an erasure on reverse of title-page causing pin-head sized hole. Otherwise just light shelf wear and signs of use, cloth a bit rubbed & darkened, text clean and unmarked.
