A cheaply produced reprint of the 1658 first edition of this work by Elias Ashmole (1617 - 1692), the great English antiquary, statesman, astrologer and student of alchemy best known for his "Theatrum Chemicum Britannicum". This work, which was intended as a successor or appendix to the "Theatrum" was Ashmole’s last major alchemical publication. It comprises an introduction by Ashmole and the text of an anonymous, earlier hermetic work ("The Way to Bliss") which touches on alchemy, astrology, medicine and other broadly "Rosicrucian" subjects.
