Text mostly IN FRENCH, with some passages in Italian and Latin. A charmingly-produced facsimile edition of this French language edition of this well known grimoire. Although it has the date 1521 on the title-page, there is no doubt that the original from which this facsimile was made was actually produced in the nineteenth century. Unfortunately this facsimile is almost as anonymous as the original: there is nothing to identify its origin save a tiny note in the colophon indicating the it was printed by Seprint in Cergy, France, for Editions Perthuis, a small publisher who seem to have been most active in the 1970s and 1980s. The volume is undated, but was acquired by its previous owner in 2002, so all we can say with certainty is that it predates that. Of course there is no indication of the print run, but this was obviously tiny, as an on-line search fails to reveal any other copies. A lovely fresh and unmarked copy in Fine condition. Item #66482
