"A remarkably concise explanation of the ancient uses, ritual and true aims of Magic." By Walter Ernest Butler (1898-1978), a priest in the Liberal Catholic Church, who studied with Dion Fortune and was active in her Fraternity of the Inner Light for nearly twenty years. In later life he became acquainted with Gareth Knight and eventually went on to found his own group, the Servants of the Light, of which he remained the main teacher until not long before his death, at which time the mantle was passed to Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki. Upper corners bumped, bookplate on pastedown, small gold address label of Dorothy B. Hughes, founder of the Seattle Astrological Association on the front blank. Top edge darkened and a little flecked, pages lightly toned, owner's name in pen on rear blank. Still overall - a tight, clean VG+ copy in VG+ dust jacket (Dust jacket price-clipped and very lightly rubbed at edges, rear panel a bit darkened. Now protected by a mylar sleeve). Item #66512
