Item #66513 Magic and the Qabalah. W. E. BUTLER.

Magic and the Qabalah.

London: Aquarian Press, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. 108pp. Pale grey patterned cloth with gilt title etc to spine, bibliography. Walter Ernest Butler (1898-1978), was a priest in the Liberal Catholic Church, who studied with Dion Fortune and was active in her Fraternity of the Inner Light for nearly twenty years. In later life he became acquainted with Gareth Knight and eventually went on to found his own group, the Servants of the Light, of which he remained the main teacher until not long before his death, at which time the mantle was passed to Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki. An acknowledgement of his mentors can be found in the printed dedication to this volume, which is to "R. K." (Robert King - Butler's first teacher), "D.N.F." (Dion Fortune) and "A.V.O." (C. T. Loveday). The present work is a serious look at the Qabalah for the aspirant magician. Corners bumped and a little rubbed, small ripple to extreme margin of top corner of first twenty leaves, edges of boards a little darkened. Page edges a little darkened, top edge dusty, but still a tight, clean unmarked about VG+ copy in better-than VG dust jacket (Dust jacket is a little darkened, edges a bit chafed with some tiny chips and tears, price clipped. Now protected by a removable mylar sleeve). Item #66513
