Item #66529 History & Chronology of the Book of Eibon [ Charnel House Chapbook, Number One ]. Lin CARTER.

History & Chronology of the Book of Eibon [ Charnel House Chapbook, Number One ].

Lenox Hill Station: Charnel House Publishers, ND [ 1984 ]. First Edition. Softcover. Octavo. 8pp. Stapled booklet. Xeroxed sheets in pale yellow stapled wrappers lettered and illustrated in black. Edition limited to five hundred copies of which this is No. 423. The "Book of Eibon" is apparently a Necronomicon-type fantastic work, generally attributed to Clark Ashton Smith but referenced in a number of H. P. Lovecraft's stories, such including "The Dreams in the Witch House" and "The Horror in the Museum." This booklet by American science fiction and fantasy writer Lin Carter (Linwood Vrooman Carter: 1930 – 1988). From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. The staples missed the centre leaves, so enter leaves detached from staples, light creasing to covers - but still a tight bright VG+ copy. Item #66529
