Item #66554 The Initiate in the New World. Cyril SCOTT.

The Initiate in the New World.

York Beach, ME: Samuel Weiser Inc., 1992. Reprint. Softcover. Octavo. x + 302pp. The second book in the "Initiate" trilogy by Cyril Meir Scott (1879–1970). The trilogy was originally published anonymously between 1920, and 1932, and tells the story of “Justin Moreward Haig” said to be a pseudonym used to mask the identity of a well-known Englishman with whom the author was personally acquainted, and who he considered to be an initiate or adept of high attainment along Theosophical lines. This volume, the sequel to "The Initiate" describes how the "pupil" is invited to join thirty other students being taught in Boston by Haig. Like the other volumes in the series the work seems to be a largely instructional piece, aimed at exploring the development of spiritual awareness, thinly veiled by a fictional narrative. Appears unused thus in near Fine condition. Item #66554
