This is the first separate edition of Crowley's epic mystical poem, with an extensive thirty page Commentary by Israel Regardie. This copy INSCRIBED & SIGNED by Israel Regardie to Thomas Head on the front blank: "For Thomas Head, whose friendship I truly value, Israel Regardie", and with Head's bookplate on front pastedown. Dr. Thomas Head (d. 1999), was a personal friend of Israel Regardie, an avid book collector who was well known for his encyclopedic knowledge - theoretical and practical - of different occult traditions. He was a skilled linguist, and an expert on the Enochian language, and is said to have studied with W. E. Butler, and Dion Fortune, amongst others. More recently from the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications.
