In the Hand of Allan Bennett, the Human Organism.

Munich, Germany: Dunkles Zeichen Bucht, (1996 - actually 2006). First Edition Thus. Softcover. Quarto. (12 x 8.5 inches). Eccentrically paginated [ 22pp ], b&w illustrations. Original black metal spiral binding, heavy black transparent plastic cover sheets over pale blue card wrappers which are illustrated and lettered in black on upper cover, and lettered in black on rear cover. Frontispiece in two tones. Edition limited to 31 copies, this being copy No. 7. The volume apparently presents a facsimile of a short manuscript by Allan Bennett on the chakras, pranayama, and other aspects of yogic mysticism. Bennett (1872-1923), was of course variously a Golden Dawn adept, Aleister Crowley's mentor, and a Buddhist monk, and leading figure in the establishment of Buddhism in Britain. Although attributed to Dunkles Zeichen Bucht (?) and with the copyright year 1996 the series of which this is a part was actually the work of the "enfant terrible" of British Thelemic publishing Richard T. Cole, (author of "Thelema Revisited"; "A Postcard From Hell"; "Liber L. + vel Bogus" etc.) and published in 2006. Cole's skills with Photoshop seem to have been exercised in some of the photographs. From the library of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Pages appear to be printed with a high-quality xerox process. A bright, clean copy in near Fine condition. Obviously uncommon. Item #66625
