Item #66665 Liber LI. The Lost Continent. Aleister CROWLEY.

Liber LI. The Lost Continent.

San Francisco, CA: [ OTO ] Stellar Visions, 1986. First Edition Thus. Large format softcover. Quarto ( 8.5 x 11 inches), 34pp. "Velobound": Flexible clear plastic front cover over printed paper cover sheet, dark blue plastic rear cover, secured together with a blue plastic back strip. Hand-colored endsheets. B&w diagrams. An early publication produced in collaboration with the (then) "Caliphate O.T.O." Crowley's Liber LI is said to be "An account of the continent of Atlantis: the manners and customs, magical rites and opinions of its people, together with a true account of the catastrophe, so called, which ended in its disappearance" although in other writings Crowley allowed that there was more than a hint of satire in some parts of the work, whilst others were thinly-veiled metaphor. Kenneth Anger described the work as a "sexual-magical treasure." The verso of the title page has a series of quotes from the Grady McMurtry versus the Marcelo Motta court case of 1985, whilst the final leaf has a statement about the O.T.O. on the recto. A little light wear and yellowing to cover, otherwise a tight clean VG+ copy. Scarce. Item #66665
