Comprises a collection of essays by various authors on the subject of seership that were originally presented as papers at a symposium in Oxford held by the foklore society. The editor says her introduction: "in this small group of papers, it is only possible to touch on a few aspects of a wide and complex subject and to trace some lines of development from the simple recognition of the ability of certain people to see what is normally hidden, prevalent in the Highlands of Scotland in the 17th and 18th centuries." Five of the papers are devoted to "the Celtic Seer" and five to "Comparative Studies of the Seer" - that is the seer in non-celtic societies. Light general wear, bruising to corners, one inch abrasion to lower fore-edge of front board (see photo), a few light marks to front endpaper, else a tight clean VG copy in VG dust jacket (Dust lightly rubbed and scratched, short tear at lower front fore-edge, unclipped, now protected by a removable mylar sleeve).
