The authors, Janet Farrar (b. 1950) and Stewart Farrar (1916 – 2000) met when they were initiated into Alexandrian witchcraft by the tradition's founders, Alex and Maxine Sanders in the early 1970s. They went on to marry and co-author a number of books on witchcraft and modern neo-paganism. In this book they offer a detailed study of the masculine element in contemporary witchcraft.
