The International Vol. X, No. 8. August, 1916.

New York: The International Monthly, August 1916. First Edition. Softcover. Quarto (approx. 11 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches). Magazine format. Original beige stapled wrappers, covers lettered and illustrated in black, b&w illustrations. 32pp. [numbered (225) – 256]. "The International" was a pro-German news magazine of the First World War, to which Crowley contributed regularly, eventually becoming a Contributing Editor. This issue includes an essay by Crowley: "Frank Harris Reveals Oscar WIlde", pp. 241 - 243. It also includes a poem "At Kyrene" by "Edward Storer", a work which is sometimes, but probably incorrectly, attributed to Crowley (p. 240.) Large vertical strip ( 1 1/2 inches wide x 8 inches high) torn from fore-edge of front cover with loss. A couple of coffee (?) stains to front cover, crease across upper corner, some chipping to bottom corner. A scarce journal, internally clean, but with an obviously defective front cover and therefore being sold AS IS. Item #67091
