Tao Te Ching, Liber CLVII. The Equinox, Vol. 3, No. VIII.

New Delhi: Alchemy [ Mehras ], 2005. Indian Edition. Softcover. Trade paperback format xvi + 112 pp. Frontis, references and index. This copy humorouusly INSCRIBED to Clive Harper by the editor, Hymenaeus Beta on the half title page: "For Bro. Clive - / Spreading the light of / the Gnosis to the / farthest lands! / 93 93/93 Bill." A most unusual edition of this work, published in India for distribution only in India. It contains the texts of Crowley's editions of the Tao Te Ching (Liber CLVII) and the Khing Kang King (Liber XXI) with an Introduction by Hymenaeus Beta, and is apparently reprinted, with minor alterations, from the Samuel Weiser edition of 1995. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. The label can easily be removed without affecting the page, although it would be a shame not to preserve this record of the book's provenance. Very light bump to upper corner else a tight, clean, Fine copy. An rare inscribed copy of a most unusual edition. Item #67126
