Item #67143 Thelemic Commentaries. Paul Joseph ROVELLI, Aleister Crowley: related works.

Thelemic Commentaries.

NP [ USA ]: Birdland Communications / Component Spaces Division, 1999. First Edition. Large format softcover. Quarto ( 8.5 x 11 inches). vi, iii, 124pp, xxiv. Black cloth tape spine, flexible clear plastic front cover over white cover sheet illustrated in black, black textured rear card cover. Xeroxed sheets. One of a series of three volumes in the "Thelemic Series" by Paul Joseph Rovelli, a musician and prolific writer on occutism in general and Thelema and the Qabalah in specific, who published widely, including in well-knwon journals like "Mezlim", "Tarot News" etc. By his own account he joined the O.T.O. in 1986, but left it in the early 1990s, and was for a time active in H.O.O.R. (The Holy Order Of RaHoorKhuit) before founding his own esoteric order, now known as The Gnostic Church of L.V.X. "Thelemic Commentaries" is, as the title suggests, a series of commentaries on important Thelemic texts and rituals. It begins, appropriately, with an Introduction examining the "Injunction Against Commenting and Class C. Writings." From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Just a hint of shelfwear, else a tight, bright near Fine copy. Most uncommon. Item #67143
