Colour illustrated covers with a very lurid Hieronymus Bosch-esque design depicting a horned monster munching on two people whilst scooping up two amply-breasted naked women (dessert?), as in the background various demons hunt naked figures in the hell-fires! An uncommon reprint edition of Symond's biography of Aleister Crowley, the book which introduced the children of the Fifties and Sixties to the Great Beast. This copy is SIGNED by author John Symonds on the title-page. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Covers a but rubbed and creased, pages browned (as common but unmarked). Still a tight unmarked VG copy of a fragile printimg. Item #67171
