Item #67187 Liber LXV. Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente. "The Book of the Heart Girt by a Serpent" with Commentary by The Master Therion. Aleister CROWLEY, James A. Eshelman.

Liber LXV. Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente. "The Book of the Heart Girt by a Serpent" with Commentary by The Master Therion.

Los Angeles: The College of Thelema, 1995. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Quarto (11" x 8 1/2 inches") 129pp + iii adverts. Black comb binding, transparent plastic cover sheets, yellow printed paper wrappers. The first printing of this edition of "Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente" with Crowley's commentary and James Eshelman's Introduction. "Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente" is of course one of the "Holy Books" of Thelema and has often been reprinted. Crowley's commentary was first published by Alexander Watt in Canada, using material supplied by Karl Germer and published in a tiny, poorly-produced edition. The work was not reprinted with commentary until Phyllis Seckler published the two side-by-side over five issues of the College of Thelema's journal "In the Continuum" between 1976-1979. The present volume is essentially a cleaned and reworked version of that text, with a new Introduction by James Eshelman. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Just a hint of handling, creasing to edges of errata sheet, else tight, clean near Fine condtion. Item #67187
