A boxed set comprising a quarto softcover Introduction and a hard-bound full colour fold-out reproduction of the Codex, both housed in the original clamshell box with leather spine and internal compartments to snugly fit both volumes. The introduction/summary is 32pp, with the text in German and a short English summary, and is bound in thick beige wrappers illustrated and titled in black, with b&w illustrations and fold-out chart, bibliography. The facsimile of the original Codex is full colour, hardbound. 7 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches with 20 connected sheets which unfold accordion-style to nearly 11 feet long. The Codex Cospi [ Codex Bologna ] is a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican pictorial manuscript, included in the Borgia Group and now housed in the library of the University of Bologna. It depicts various deities, priests, offerings, etc. and is largely religious and divinatory in nature, and although its origins are uncertain it is thought to derive from the Puebla-Tlaxcala region.
