The first softcover edition of this reappraisal of the Salem witchcraft panic in which the author allows that a form of witchcraft - albeit of the folk-magic of the time - may have been practised, and emphasises the importance of examining the events in light of beliefs of the time. A few creases and with the usual wear and in the slightly fragile state which is typical of pulp paperbacks of this vintage: pages browned etc. Still overall a tight unmarked near-VG copy.
