Item #67339 The Training and Work of an Initiate. Dion FORTUNE.

The Training and Work of an Initiate.

New York: Samuel Weiser, 1976. Second Impression thus. Hardcover. Octavo. 126pp. Red cloth with gilt title etc to spine, b&w chart. The second impression of the Weiser facsimile of the 1930 first edition. "The Training and Work of an Initiate" gives details "of the preparation for and degrees of true esoteric initiation, together with a description of the work to be performed and the training to be undergone by the candidate for the Higher Mysteries." The book is complete and independent in itself although it was also designed to complement the author's earlier "The Esoteric Orders and Their Work." According to the author, writing in her Foreword, "The two books, taken together, cover the whole field of initiation upon the Right-hand Path of the Western Tradition." A hint of shelf wear, cloth very slightly darkened at edges of boards, light bruising to spine ends, top edge darkened and foxed, bookplate on front free endpaper (with evidence of an unsuccessful attempt to remove it), text unmarked. Overall a tight clean VG + copy in VG dust jacket (Dust jacket is lightly rubbed, a few short edge tears and chips - and a couple of tape repairs, not clipped. Looks better than it sounds. Now in protective mylar cover). Item #67339
