Four volumes (complete). 550pp & 482pp & 632pp & 576pp. The first Shambhala facsimile reprint of the 1924 edition of this collection of the 'Hermetica': the extraordinary collection of writings ascribed to Hermes Trismegistus, the Greek name for the legendary teacher, prophet and scribe deified by the Egyptians as the god Thoth and known to the Hebrews as Enoch. Volume I contains the original Greek and Latin texts as well as the translations and notes. Volumes II and III provide extra commentaries on the Corpus Hermeticum, the Asclepius and the Strobaeus. Volume IV provides Testimonia (many of which are only given in an untranslated form) as well as addenda to the notes on the earlier texts. All volumes are lightly shelfworn, edges lightly chafed, page edges lightly thumbed with some light marks from handling, text bright and unmarked. Volume II (only) has been sharply bumped at lower spine leaving diagonal crease on the front cover and first 20 or so leave (does not interfere with ease of reading). Overall a VG set.
