Solar Lodge was arguably one of the most controversial of the many occult groups that sprung up in 1960s America. It was founded by a student of one of the original initiates of Agape Lodge of the O.T.O. and taught a system of magick closely based on that of Aleister Crowley. The author, Frater Shiva, joined Solar Lodge at its inception and rose through its ranks before leaving at the time of its implosion in 1972. In 2007 Frater Shiva released "Inside Solar Lodge - Outside the Law," a book which is part reminiscence, part "insider history" of the group. At the time of publication Frater Shiva was reticent about chronicling all aspects of the group's activities, in particular their use of the "silver talisman," "Ceremonial Magick," and "Legal LSD." Now, in 2012, Frater Shiva feels that the time is right to "disclose everything in great detail." The result is this book, "Inside Solar Lodge - Behind the Veil," a work which lays bare the history of "Solar Lodge" and for the first time "chronicles the historical, legal use of LSD in mid-1960's America by a magickal group who took the A.'. A.'. 'Tasks of the Grades' as the measuring-stick of their common, everyday reality." This new publication contains the complete core text of "Inside Solar Lodge - Outside the Law," largely expanded (to nearly double the size) by Shiva, and adds new insights by former Solar Lodge members Frater Taurus, Frater Jon, and Frater Anubis and well-known Thelemic commentator Jerry Cornelius. It also includes (mostly) different illustrations to those published in "Inside Solar Lodge - Outside the Law." Actually an unread copy, but Print-on-demand production values has resulted in wrinkling of laminate to covers - otherwise a tight clean and VG+condition. Item #67625
