Octavo. xvi + 88pp. Full white leather binding, with gilt titling and raised bands on the spine and gilt titling on front cover, b&w frontispiece, marbled endpapers, ribbon markers. Printing limited to 1000 numbered copies - this copy un-numbered. As far as we can ascertain most of the print-run was bound either in cloth or in black leather. This is the only white-leather example we have encountered. The text is the corrected edition of Robert Turner's translation of Agrippa's "Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy" and includes Turner's original margin notes along with new footnotes. Turner's Greek text (with its accompanying Byzantine miniscule ligatures) have been transliterated, corrected, translated and elucidated by Professor Marc Huys. Continuing the custom commenced with the first English edition of this work in 1655, and preserved by Askin in their 1978 edition and Heptangle Book's 1985 printing, this volume includes the Heptameron or Magical Elements of Peter de Abano. There are a couple of tiny spots - possible tea drops - to the lower fore-edge of the first ten pages, just starting to affect the margins. Otherwise a bright, clean, near-Fine copy in a most unusual binding. Item #67640
