The Blue Equinox Journal, Issue 2 - Panic in Detroit: The Magician and the Motor City.

Royal Oak, MI: Blue Equinox Oasis. O.T.O., 2006. First Edition. Softcover. Octavo. viii + 166pp. B/w frontis. & illustrations. The first edition - of which only 250 copies were printed. This copy warmly INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Richard Kaczynski on the title-page to Clive Harper. In this work Kaczynski, author of the highly- regarded "Perdurabo," explores the ups and downs of Thelema in Detroit in the years immediately folllowing the First World War. Includes an original historical essay by Kaczynski, transcripts of newspaper articles, the text of over 40 previously unpublished letters by Crowley and his associates, and many great photographs. Some of this material, along with a substantial amount of new information on the Detroit period, included in the new edition of "Perdurabo," but the 40 or so letters between Crowley and Jones, appear nowhere else. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. A tight clean near Fine copy. Item #67734
