Item #67757 Magick in Theory and Practice. Aleister CROWLEY.

Magick in Theory and Practice.

Secaucus NJ: Castle Books, ND ( circa 1970s ). Reprint. Hardcover. Large octavo. xxviii + 436pp. Original beige papered boards with black title, etc. to spine. An early 1970s printing of the Castle edition of Crowley's "Magick in Theory and Practice" (Book Four, Part III), generally described as the Beast's magnum opus. The Castle edition was basically a reduced-format facsimile of the original 1929 Paris edition, with a few small changes (the removal of some blanks, a fly-title, etc). In its first printing (circa 1965?) the Castle edition was the First US edition of this work. Unfortunately most of the Castle printings were undated and it is quite difficult to tell them apart. As far as we know this particular printing probably dates from the early 1970s. Just a hint of shelfwear, and with the edges a little darkened and a few light finger marks to the rear blanks. Overall a tight, VG+ copy in VG or better dust jacket. (Dust jacket is lightly worn with some chafing, light chipping and short tears to edges. Not clipped. Now in protective mylar sleeve).
