A very unusual early publication by Grady McMurtry's "Caliphate O.T.O." The Crowleyan "Gnostic Catholic Mass" was first published in "The International" in 1918 and then reprinted in "The Equinox Vol. 3 No. I" and "Magick in Theory and Practice." This edition was reproduced from the typseset text in "The Equinox Vol. 3 No. I", with added rubrication. The colophon gives its date of reprinting as 1978, by "Hymenaeus Alpha / Caliph, IX° , X° O.T.O. " and gives their Berkeley P.O. Box address. The booklet was later reissued - but printed in black & white only: without the red printing found throughout this issue. Cheap production values. One red-printed line about the rubrication (!) on the front wrapper has faded so badly as to be almost illegible. Covers a little darkened and lightly worn, slight damp mark to fore-edge of upper cover, edges lightly browned, a few creased corners. Still a tight clean about VG copy of this scarce booklet from Grady McMurtry (1918 – 1985) and the Caliphate period of the O.T.O. Item #67761
