Portsmouth, New Hampshire born Bessie Clarke Drouet was a medium and artist active on the East coast. In this book she recounts recordings of the "Spirit voices" of Thomas Edison, Elmer Sperry, Henry Clarke and others being recorded on the "Edison Ediphone Machine" and details a series of seances held at her home with mediums Maina Tafe, Arthur Ford, Cecil Stewart and William Hart, and there supposed conversations with Theodore Roosevelt, Ulssyes S. Grant, Andrew Jackson and many others who had "passed over." Light overall shelf wear, corners and spine ends lightly bumped & chafed with a bit of light fraying, spine rubbed & unevenly faded, endpapers and first few leaves a bit discoloured and foxed, owner's details on front blank. Still overall a tight, clean VG copy. Item #67833
