Solco Walle Tromp (1909 - 1983) was a Dutch geologist and biometeorologist who was Professor of Geology at Cairo University from 1947 to 1950. Tromp developed an interest in dowsing and radiesthesia and after conducting extensive experiments came to the conclusion that dowsing is a real phenomenon related to electromagnetic fields. From the publisher: "An analysis of the influence of electromagnetic fields on psychic phenomena in human beings, with particular reference to divining phenomena", written by a sceptical geologist. A number of related contemporary news clippings loose at front. Very light shelf wear, upper corner lightly bumped with corresponding minor ripple (barely noticeable) to top corner of about a tird of the pages, top edge a bit darkened, owner's tidy notes on most of front pastedown, pages toned but otherwise clean and unmarked. Overall a tight, clean VG copy in VG dust jacket. (Dust jacket just a bit shelf worn and darkened with some light chafing and chipping at edges, spine ends and folds, not clipped.
