One color plate. A first English edition of the first book by Franz Bardon (1909-1958), the Czech-born Hermeticist. 'Initiation into Hermetics' was originally published in German as 'Der Weg zum wahren Adepten' in 1956. In it Bardon takes a description of a single tarot card as the starting point for a discourse on theoretical and practical magical exercises designed to expand the occult abilities and spiritual horizons of the student. Just a hint of light shelf wear, slight darkening to endpapers, bookplate on front pastedown - overall a tight, bright and unmarked VG+ copy in Good dust jacket (Dust jacket has general shelf-wear, a long crease down the spine and a little light creasing to the panels and edge, edges chafed, not clipped.
