This number comprises the first separate publication of the essay "Fringe Masonry in England, 1870-85" by Ellic Howe, an invaluable source on the proto-history of the Golden Dawn, the O.T.O. etc, as well as groups like the Sat Bahai, Fratres Lucis etc. and individuals like Kenneth MacKenzie and John Yarker. It was originally published in "Ars Quatuor Coronatorum" Volume 85, 1972, and is here reprinted with additional footnotes by Darcy Kuntz.
