Item #68260 The Rite of Mercury. Aleister CROWLEY, Leila Waddell, George Raffalovich.

The Rite of Mercury.

NP [ London ]: Privately, ND [ circa 2003 ]. Softcovers. Quarto. A4 sized sheets. 16pp. Mylar cover over pale grey title page lettered in black, bound in office clip-style binder. A copy of "The Rite of Mercury" - obviously photocopied / xeroxed from a reprint of "The Equinox, Vol. I, No. VI" where it was first published. "The Rite of Mercury" was one of the seven "Rites of Eleusis" as originally performed at Caxton Hall, Westminster, London in October and November of 1910 by Aleister Crowley, Leila Waddell et al and revived and revived variously from the late 1970s onwards. This copy was apparently used as the "script" by one of the performers (Frater Gemini) in an Australian production of "the Rites" in the early 2000s (the parts for Frater Gemini are marked with a highlighter). From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Obviously rather basic "home-made" production values. Light shelf wear, highlighting to the lines of Fr. Gemini, else a tight clean VG+ copy. Item #68260
